Our early am running group took off for the hills surrounding Hirschberg to follow the tracks of American Hero General George Patton who died in Heidelberg in 1945 in a car accident under mysterious circumstances. We headed straight into the forest with only the sounds of our breath, singing of blackbirds and the rythmic bubbles of a small stream. A quick 3.5 miler. We're now on the bus heading south to Bavaria and then on to Austria to see if the hills really do sing with the sounds..........Julie Andrews here we come!
