2013 Euro Trip: The Last Supper

Tonight the team gave Rosie Wider a standing ovation to thank her for the countless selfless hours she put into organizing our life changing adventure.  You are the most awesomest Rosie!   You thought of everything, responded to any concerns and most of all, ensured we were safe and comfortable during the biggest heatwave in Europe in a century.  Words cannot express how grateful we are to you.

Hearfelt appreciation was also given to Alicia Walker, Mark Hansen, Pham Lam, Amy Fuermann and all the chaperones.   But most of all, kudos goes to all the WHEU members for their responsible behavior, watching out for each other, and especially for being superb ambassadors of West High School during our 2013 Euro tour.

Venice: Got Gondola?

The gondola rides were the cherries on top of yet another memorable activity of this trip.

Venice: Finishing Strong!

Wow!  It is the last day of our Euro trip and we made full use of our time to experience everything Venice has to offer.  World class museums, gondola rides, meeting master glass artists and eating pasta, pizza and gelato.  Another awesome city under our belt!

Marco......Polo........Marco.....Polo.....: Venice On the Run!

After a great dinner last night of the Italian specialty, hamburger patties and french fries, we got up early this am at 5:30 and went to the main island of Venice to see what we could see.   We ran through small empty streets, over tiny bridges and through dark alleyways to get to our destination, Saint Mark Cathedral.  It's our last run of our trip and what a way to end it in a big way!!!!   Thanks to Karen Pearce, Blake Gilmartin and Shaun Jackson for being ready at 5:30 am.  You guyz rock!!!!!

Dolomite Paradise: Cortina d'Ampresso

Bon giorno Paesanos!  We stopped in the Shangri-La of the Dolomites.  This is a very special place.  Lots of "manga manga" as our first taste of authentic Italiano did not disappoint.  Bonisima pasta, pizza, pastries and heavenly gelato!    Are we dreaming?
Regrettably we had to get back on the busses.   We're into the stretch headed for our final destination, Venezia!
Did somebody spot The Chairman, Mr. Sinatra sitting at the cafe or Dino Martin at the Trattoria?  Or was that Don Corleone  walking by?
